RUT951 Antennas
The Teltonika RUT951 4G router is supplied with 2 x elbow joint antennas to connect to the 2 x SMA antenna ports of the router. If you are installing the RUT951 router in a location with poor 4G network signal and you want to source an alternative 4G antenna then we have listed a few options below. In most cases an outdoor 4G antenna placed where there is a good 4G network signal will suffice and we recommend the MIMORAD antenna. If the RUT951 is being installed inside a metal cabinet then a4G dome antenna may be more suitable.
Is the Teltonika RUT951 Good For CCTV?
Many CCTV installers rely on a 4G connection for remote access to the CCTV equipment on Site and for CCTV monitoring stations to deal with alarms. The Teltonika RUT951 is a good, solid, reliable 4G router hat will provide a secure4G connection and when used with a Fixed IP SIM Card the firewall of the RUT951 can keep the router and CCTV equipment safe from hackers as long as the firewall is correctly configured and not left with default settings!
When used for CCTV, the RUT951 router is usually very quick to install, with just a few key settings the CCTV installer on site can get the router connected and working within a few minutes. When using a Fixed IP SIM, the installer will first need to configure the APN settings provided by their Fixed IP SIM card provider and ensure the router connects and receives the public IP address. Then it is simply a case of configuring the port forwarding and LAN IP range to match the CCTV equipment being installed on the LAN and then setting any remote access rights and changing the admin passwords of the router and any other firewall and WiFi security settings to make the router secure.
Overall, the RUT951 4G router, when used with a Fixed IP SIM card is a good, low cost 4G CCTV solution.
